The Different Styles Of Fitted Wardrobes
A fitted wardrobe is a closet that is built into the available wall space. It may be on its own wall, or it may be fitted around the bed. Its main purpose is to provide a place for storage and to keep the room nice and neat.
The free standing fitted bathroom wardrobes offer less space than the fitted closet. It is usually considerably lower than the ceiling, leaving a considerable amount of wasted space at the top. The fitted closet uses all of the space available.
There are three types of fitted wardrobes that you can choose from. They are known as the sliding door, frame construction and full carcase. Each one has its own benefits and characteristics. The one that is chosen depends strictly on the needs of the user.
The full carcase closet is fully lined on the inside and comes complete with a base, two sides, a back and a top. It has the advantage that it can be taken apart and moved to wherever it is needed. The top has a scribe around it, to cover the empty space between the ceiling and the top of the closet.
This type of wardrobe is usually built to pre-set sizes which makes it easier for a novice to build. They have the disadvantage that they cannot be used where there is a sloping ceiling. The doors are hinged onto the side panels.
The frame constructed wardrobe only has a base and no sides, back or top. The walls and ceiling provide these parts. With this style of closet different depths can be chosen and the closet fashioned accordingly. It can be built where the roof slopes or objects are sticking out from the wall. A big advantage is that it can be built on-site in a short amount of time.
If you have a small room that doesn’t have a lot of space, you may want to choose the sliding door wardrobe. People like to use mirrors for the sliding doors, giving them a double function. These closets save a considerable amount of space by having doors that don’t open up into the room.
No matter which style of wardrobe or mirrored chest of drawers you choose, you will have a considerable amount of storage space. Each closet can be arranged differently inside in order to meet the specific needs of the user. He will be the one who chooses the style of fitted wardrobes to be used.
