Why buy wedding invitations that thousands of other brides have used to announce their big day when you can make your own handmade wedding invitations. More and more brides are putting a more personal touch to their invitations by designing invitations themselves.

Handmade wedding invites can be made in your particular color and theme. They can be created to reflect your style and personality. This is also a great way to let your guests get a glimpse at the theme of your wedding and excite them until your big day.

If you are crafty you can make them yourself, but if you are in a time crunch or have a big guest list you can hire a professional. Working one on one with a professional can help save you time and can deliver a great looking handmade wedding invitation for your friends and family.

Wedding Concerns

June 21, 2009 Personal Development Comments Off

These days wedding etiquette has probably changed drastically. For example, I really don’t think that my parents will be chipping in for my wedding. I’m fine with that. They have been divorced for a while and there really wasn’t a lot of money to go around after the whole debacle. Really I’m more concerned about what my wedding day is going to be like with both my parents there. I am wondering how to handle the whole situation. I really can’t imagine having to pick one or the other to attend my wedding. It almost makes me not want to get married. I guess I can’t really control what they do and I should just invite both of them. I will send them both photo wedding invitations and hope that they both attend without killing one another.

The style and formality of your wedding starts with your invitations, setting the tone for your ceremony and reception.

You may wish to purchase or make thank you cards, order of service sheets and place cards for the reception at the same time keeping the same theme.

A printed menu card in the style of your other wedding stationery is a nice way to welcome your guests to the table, and to tempt their taste buds.

To save on postage design or choose cards that fit into a standard size envelope. Include a map to the ceremony, venue & suggested accommodation with invitations for out of town guests.

If you are having invitations made choose your design and book in the printing 6-12 months in advance.

Check, double-check, and check again the wording, times, dates and information on your invitations before sending them to the printers.
