Saint Paul and Minneapolis Receive $41 Million in Home Buying Grants
The cities of Saint Paul and Minneapolis continue to push forward on their CityLiving program by offering new funding totaling $41 million. This new funding is available for first-time homebuyers to purchase homes in Saint Paul and Minneapolis. This project is supported by the Recovery Act initiated by the Federal Government in response to the declining housing market and declining sales.
Both the state and national government recognize that home purchase and renovations are a large fuel to the economy. Additionally, with the mortgage markets tightening up significantly over the last 2-3 years, these funds will allow home buyers that may otherwise have been unable to purchase a home to reap the benefits of home ownership.
